Simultaneous Interpretation

In simultaneous interpretation, the interpreters work in an interpretation booth equipped with microphones and headphones. They hear the speaker through the headphones and simultaneously communicate the message in another language to the audience through the microphones. On an average six-hour working day, interpreters interpret the equivalent of 65 typewritten pages. Simultaneous interpretation is recommended for large meetings, especially those with more than two languages.
